middle of nowhere.
The Gobi Desert, to be exact. When college friends Matthew Scanlan and Diederik Rijsemus accidentally found themselves living on a remote nomadic herding farm in the middle of Mongolia.
While there, they became friends
with the local herders.
And witnessed firsthand how traditional cashmere traders fixed prices and kept the profits. The duo realized that they could cut out the middlemen, pay their herder friends more, and sell luxury knitwear for less.
